An Australian company targeted 100 employees, 60% of whom are female, with the goal to impact employee wellbeing. The objective was to transform the workplace into a healthier one. The overall strategy was to make wellness available at the workplace, where they spend the majority of their waking hours instead of them having to carve out time after office hours. The company was serious about promoting employee wellness and integrated participation in the program into their KPIs. We ran a holistic program to help employees take care of their physical, nutritional and mental health. Below were the following programs:
Deskercise
The main goal is to help them create a wellness habit of not sitting for prolonged hours by giving them nudges through deskercises. Our coaches came to their office thrice a week for 20-minute sessions each to teach team microworkouts, exercises they can do by their desks. The main goal was to help them disrupt sitting for long hours, and give them mini workout options because a lot of them did not have 1-2 hours to spend at the gym. This employee wellbeing activity can also be delivered online.
Fitness Classes in the Workplace
Two to three group fitness sessions were available in the office per week and we rotated programs to avoid boredom and to challenge their progress. From HIIT, circuit, yoga, boxing to dance, we gave options for employees. We also designed a challenge around this to keep them engaged and to keep class numbers up. Gamifying the program via partner challenges in the class, leaderboards and the like helped a lot in ensuring consistent attendance. These helped a lot not only with the employee’s physical fitness but also with their mental wellbeing as a wellbeing activity they use to destress.
Workplace Employees Nutrition Guide
We helped them design their pantry giving them customized nutrition standards, snack ideas, a guide for choosing vendors and caterers, and even a vending machine guide and guide for their menus. We helped them color code pantry labels to help employees keep a balanced diet. In the end, it was a pantry that gave employees an opportunity to make healthier nutrition choices and to sustain an overall lifestyle to support their wellbeing.
Workshops
Employees were empowered through workshops opening their eyes about proper nutrition, debunking myths, and equipping them with practical strategies they can apply daily. As a result, employees were making better choices that affect their overall wellness and health.
