Employee Wellness Program Ideas At Work

There are many different ways to promote wellness for employees at work. It can be as simple as offering a mental health leave, free gym memberships, and healthy food options for employees. We always want to promote a holistic, well-designed program especially for our for our Gen Z employees. The younger generation look for employee well-being programs when they choose an employer. There are, however, a few easy ideas to jumpstart your employee wellness program at work, as you design your overall program. Here are 10 of them:

Employee Wellness Activities at Work

  1. Offer free fitness classes for employees like yoga, zumba, cardio kickboxing, dance fitness and more
  2. Offer standing desks for employees, stand up meetings, and brainstorming walkathons
  3. Offer employee well-being workshops and empower them to make better choices for their physical, nutritional, mental, and socio-emotional health
  4. Launch a 30-day employee wellness challenge to kickstart their fitness and health journey covering different aspects of wellness
  5. Have a fitness teambuilding day to get everybody moving and to promote a culture of wellness for your employees
  6. Offer roadmap sessions where they can have 1-on-1 consults with fitness and nutrition specialists so they can have a baseline of their current fitness levels. This way, they can be led into a program they can start and sustain
  7. Have an empathy training for leaders so they can create a psychologically safe space for employees
  8. Hold small group life coaching sessions with a life coach professional to give a space for regular mental health check-ins in the workplace
  9. Create an in-office gym or workout space
  10. Create sports or hobby interest groups

These are just some ideas but nothing beats a holistic plan that considers employees’ actual needs, preferences, and likelihood to engage. What we want are not one-off activities, but to create programs that build on a culture of employee wellbeing. Contact us so we can design your employee wellness program together.
